Burgers are always a go to when it comes to a simple and tasty meal. Jack Burger takes simple burgers to the next level. With burgers like the Famous Jack( Parmesan,caramelized red onion, rocket and pesto dressing),Italian Jack( Mozzerella, cheddar, bacon and sundried tomatoes) and the Veggie Deluxe Jack (hazelnut burger, tomato,pickle,cheddar) there is something for everyone. For under €7 you get a giant bowl of soup with whatever add ons you like as well as two types of bread, butter and an apple.

The soup's are made two feet from where they are served making it super fresh and healthy.Their kitchen has a giant glass window where you can see your soup being made each day. Soup Lounge is perfect for these cold winter afternoons when you are looking for something cheap and healthy.

4: Bocca

Bocca is a 10 minute walk from the student dorms at Mercator. It is right next to Patrick Foleys Irish pub where they host various student nights. It offers all the pasta you could ever dream of at a great price. With at least 20 different types of pasta sauce and toppings to choose from it is no wonder that there are always queues out the door of Bocca. It is the place to be for freshly made pasta in Ghent.

For under €10 you can get a huge portion of pasta. Perfect for the hungry student. There are two outdoor seating areas that overlook the canal. They are always full of students on sunny days. If you wanted a but more luxury once in a while they also offer a sit down restaurant in the back where the prices are the same. It is always booked out so be sure to reserve a table.
