1: Korenmarkt
Korenmarkt is "the place to be", It is the heart of Ghent and it's surrounded by gothic architecture who has his influences from France. The 2 cathedrals and the belfry were build between 12th and the 15th century.
Saint-Nicholas chruch is the church you can find on korenmarkt, it was build in 1912 and was meant to be a Parish church for ghentians. On the back of the Saint-Nicholas chruch we can find the Saint-Bavo's Cathedral. Here you can find the most popular paintings from the Gebroeders van Eyck.

2: Graslei
Graslei is the hotspot for students. On a summer's day look towards the canal and you will find many people sitting and enjoying their day. Or visit at night where you can find the reflection of the buildings on the River Leie that flows between the two squay's.

3: Sint-Michiels bridge
At the end of the Graslei you can find the Sint-Michiels bridge. Take a break and enjoy the view to the Graslei and the Cathedrals!

4: Belfry
The 91 meter height makes the Belfry the tallest belfry in Belgium. the constructions started in 1313 and it was meant to be a repository for privileges. After 1442 belfry used as a conning tower, until now people are able to enjoy the view alone or with a guide. The belfry is open from Monday till Friday for tourist between 10.00 till 18:00.

5: Gravensteen
Take a visit to one of Ghent's most famous places. The beautiful Gravensteen or the castle of the counts. The medieval castle has an amazingly impressive exterior which makes for an excellent Instagram pic. Not only that but your entrance to the castle also includes a visit to the top of it where you can see an amazing skyline view of this stunning city.

6: Old fish market
On the Opposite side of the Castle of the Counts lies the monumental gateway to the Old Fish Market. It was not only mentioned to buy fish but people went also there to buy vegetables and meat. The small part of the building is still used as a meat market and the other part as event rooms. It has an iconic cafe/restaurant with a beautiful view on the Leie canal.
