Albert I Promenade is a must-see. A spacious promenade along wide white-sand beach has cozy seafront cafes with glassed-in terraces and … The Walk of Fame! Interested in cinema? The Ostend Film Festival is held annually in the city in September.

Interested in music? Ostend was a salvation for a troubled Marvin Gaye, an American soul legend, who arrived by ferry in this sleepy coastal town one winter day in 1981 – without a penny and battling a cocaine addiction – to make up an amazing comeback and record his Sexual Healing single just year and a half later.
